Listeners and Talkers

I get a great deal of pleasure watching people being themselves in unguarded moments, expressing their emotions by their body language. One day I found myself listening to a good friend describing her outrage over an unhappy incident. I realized I sat passively, nodding and making sympathetic murmurs while she leaned forward, tense, focused, intent.

This body of work is the first in a series of people-watching that I have created using clay, a medium that lends itself to my guilty pleasure, spying on and then depicting humans being human.
